AI Appliances: Get Smart or Get Out

发布日期:2026-08-27 09:23:03   点击量:10次
China's home appliance industry is undergoing a seismic shift. The most explosive data this year isn't about a single hit product — it's about AI taking over every corner of the home. Appliances are evolving from simple tools that "follow orders" to intelligent home managers that "understand your life."
38 Million AI-Powered Appliances Sold in Q1 — The Numbers Are Insane
According to the "2026 China AI Home Appliance Development White Paper" released by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, the AI home appliance market surged 59.7% year-on-year in Q1 2026, with sales exceeding 38 million units. For the first time, AI penetration across all home appliance categories exceeded 50%, with smart TVs leading at over 70%. The figure is projected to hit 65% by year-end. AI refrigerators, AI integrated cooktops, and AI robot vacuums all posted growth above 60%.
Traditional Appliances Are Getting Wiped Out
The contrast couldn't be starker. Q1 data from All View Cloud (AVC) shows traditional refrigerator sales fell 5.3% year-on-year, laundry appliances dropped 1.1%, and domestic shipments of air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines declined 5%, 9%, and 7% respectively. Total appliance retail in H1 2026 reached RMB 425 billion, down 9.9% year-on-year. The old guard is getting pushed aside at an alarming pace.
Suning.com revealed that AI penetration in new appliance and 3C products has already surpassed 70%. The China Household Electrical Appliances Association predicts overall AI penetration will hit 65% by year-end. AI is no longer a "nice extra" — it's now table stakes. If a product doesn't have AI smarts built in, shoppers are walking right past it.
Industry Giants Are Going All In — Whole-Home Intelligence Is the New Battleground
Midea upgraded its whole-home intelligence strategy, launching spatial proactive intelligence solutions and rolling out tailored smart home services to the high-end residential market. On August 6, Panasonic unveiled its EW whole-home smart system, integrating 11 subsystems. Gree also rolled out its "Zero-Carbon Healthy Home" system, pulling together air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, smart home devices, and energy equipment into one unified ecosystem.
In July 2026, the State Council approved the "15th Five-Year Plan for Expanding Consumption," which explicitly supports the smart upgrade of home appliances and encourages the shift from smart individual products to whole-home intelligence. New property policies in multiple cities are also creating real-world adoption scenarios.
The Bottom Line: AI Is No Longer Optional. The brands that complete their whole-home intelligence ecosystems first will be the ones commanding the market for the next decade. Traditional players, the clock is ticking.
